Follow the gripping journey of Sam and John as they navigate the aftermath of a devastating car accident, where the spectre of losing each other looms large. As Sam grapples with the terrifying possibility of life without her husband, John's struggle to recover intertwines with the haunting echoes of a recent miscarriage, pushing them both to the brink of despair. With emotions running high and the stakes higher than ever, Apoptosis ignites a thrilling exploration of love's endurance and the power of human resilience in the face of unimaginable adversity.

Hunter Love Watson - Sam Wells
Born and raised on Treaty One territory, Hunter is thrilled to be a part of the Winnipeg Fringe Festival! Hunter prides herself on being a multi-disciplinary artist who lives her life with creativity and passion. As a recent 2023 graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre at Sheridan College, Hunter has had the opportunity to hone in on her artistry and develop her many skills including writing, choreographing, and performing. She was also selected to participate in the Canadian Musician Co-operative for the past two years where she has the opportunity to develop her musicianship and commercial performance skills. The Fringe has always been a huge part of Hunter’s life and she cannot wait to perform for all of you.
Josh Pinette - John Wells
Josh Pinette (he/him) is an emerging actor and writer based in Winnipeg, MB. Josh has appeared on stage in For Love (Tara Players Theatre Company) and most recently in the staged reading performances for What If Theatre’s How They’ll Tell It (Village Conservatory) and 40 Below (The Gargoyle Theatre). Recent film/tv credits include: SkyMed (CBC/Paramount+), Le Monde De Gabrielle Roy (CBC French), First Person Shooter (Tubi Original) and Silver Moon (Short). Josh has trained in acting schools in Vancouver, BC and is an alumni of the University of Manitoba, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre (Black Hole Theatre Program) and Film Studies.
Ward Keith - Dr. Adams
This is Ward’s first appearance at the Winnipeg Fringe and marks his return to the stage after a nearly 40 year hiatus. Active in both theatre and television as a young person (Oliver; Rainbow Stage, Pinocchio and The Wiz; Kids on Stage, Let’s Go; CTV), Ward stepped away from the performing arts in his early 20’s to focus on his education, career and family. He returned to the craft in 2021 following his retirement, and has since appeared in numerous feature films, short films and TV series including; Punch, Patient Expiration, Unspoken, The Disappearance of Cari Farver, The Porter, Little Bird, The Spencer Sisters, Finally Caught, Sunshine Slayings, Almost Unsolved, An Hour to Kill.
Jonalyn Basconcillo - Stage Manager
Jonalyn Basconcillo is an up and coming stage manager who is studying theatre and music at the University of Manitoba. Recent backstage credits include SM/Sound Designer/Prop & Costume Coordinator of Obsession: The Elizabeth Smart Musical (Winnipeg Fringe 2023), SM/Prop Coordinator of All My Sons (28th Minute), ASM of Scorched & Director of Tough Choices for the New Century (BHTC). Recent Onstage credits include The Comedy of Errors (BHTC), La Vie Boheme (Desautels Faculty of Music - Musical Theatre Program). She would like to thank her family and friends and especially a big thank you to her boyfriend Zane Lindberg for always supporting her and inspiring her everyday!
Rebecca Driedger - Writer / Director / Technical Designer
Rebecca Driedger (she/her) is an emerging writer, theatre creator and designer based in Winnipeg, MB. Prior to becoming the Venue Technician & Media Coordinator at The Gargoyle Theatre, Rebecca graduated from Brandon University with a Bachelor of Creative Arts, focusing on Drama, Music and Visual art, and RRC Polytechnic with a Diploma in Creative Communications, focusing on Media Production. In 2019, Rebecca was the Manitoba representative for Musical Theatre in the National Music Festival. Rebecca is excited to make her fringe debut as the writer and director of APOPTOSIS, while also acting as the venue technician for the three other shows at the Gargoyle Theatre this fringe.
